The Importance of Search Engines for an Online Business

posted by Ted on December 4, 2011

If your business has any sort of web presence on the internet, you should know how important search engines are to your overall success. Search engines have been relied upon to an enormous extent for finding information online. As a user types a search topic or is using google to search a website, the search engine sifts through millions of pages in order to present them with the most relevant websites. These results are ranked, based on the relevancy of those web pages.

Most users will only look at the first few results on the first page. Some will continue down that page and read the description of each website to see if it interests them, but very few will continue on to the second page of results. This means that if you are marketing your business online, it is extremely important to not only submit url on google search engine but to ensure show up on the first page for relevant search terms (known as keywords) when you get there. If your website isn’t on that first page, you may never be seen by potential visitors.

Focusing On Customer Retention For Online Marketing

posted by Ted on November 23, 2011

The current global economy has forced many businesses to make some changes in the way they market themselves. Fortunately, this has become easier with the use of online marketing strategies such as email and website marketing. Not only are they more cost effective, they can also be very influential and efficient. With the ability to run campaigns on your own schedule comes the temptation to overdo it. This leads to another basic rule of business – overly aggressive advertising campaigns are usually doomed to fail.

Online and offline marketing methods can be polar opposites. Although they both possess the same fundamentals, there are vast differences on how their respective strategies are implemented. Many businesses new to online advertising can quickly find themselves in trouble financially by following the same basic rules that they did in their offline advertising.

Search Engine Optimization Remains Viable

posted by Ted on November 5, 2011

Technology is changing at such a rapid rate in today’s world that if you follow a particular current trend, you may only find it outdated and replaced by another in the blink of an eye. Many Internet experts are beginning to state that the search engines are becoming more inefficient on a daily basis and that a lot of websites that have been optimized for them will soon find themselves on the outside looking in.

These ‘experts’ say that as the internet continues to grow its current rate, so much content is being added to it that search engines are unable to keep up with it. If this is true, the most relevant information may not be showing up, but rather the best search engine optimized (SEO) information is. The question then is – will SEO as we know it today remain a valued and trustworthy mode of promotion?
